Ch 35
“Atheism means God is not a physical entity regulating the world from a separate realm. For some, it is the belief in an impersonal god, one which is not always watching. Another version of atheism is that God is not one thing, rather it is everything. Theologians call this pantheism. Then, there are deists who believe God created the universe before moving on to more important things. Many Buddhists, Jains, and Naturalists are atheist. Even those who claim to be irreligious are often swept up by secular ideologies such as nationalism, socialism and capitalism. It insults all my beliefs that people think atheists are non-believers. They have sufficient faith to trust that their personal beliefs will not anger the Gods.” ~ Violet Gold.
